Latest GNSS technology

Perth Hydro has in-house GNSS receivers for immediate deployment. We have undertaken 6-degree of freedom ship motion measurements on over 60 cargo ship transits, using dual-frequency GNSS receivers with error of 10-20 mm. For smaller vessels, inertial measurement systems are used to measure the motions.

Theory and experiment

Numerical modelling helps to understand sea trials data, and sea trials help to validate numerical modelling. Perth Hydro strives for continual improvement of ship motions numerical modelling using full-scale validation.
